Hours of Operation

The Learning Commons is open for Summer 2021!

  • 9am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
  • CLOSED, Saturday & Sunday
  • CLOSED, Monday, May 31 (Memorial Day)
  • CLOSED, Monday, July 5 (Independence Day Observed)

The following policies and expectations must be followed:

  • Face coverings are required for unvaccinated individuals.
  • Do not visit the Learning Commons if you are sick or may have been exposed to Covid-19
  • Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations are available for visitor use.

No Contact Book Checkout

Perkins Library is pleased to offer no contact checkout for books and other library materials. Follow the steps in the document below!

Items will be held for two weeks.

Writing Center

Services for Summer 2021

Services will begin on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 and continue until Saturday, July 31, 2021. 


Consultations are done by appointment only with a trained writing consultant. They can be done in person (Lincoln campus only) or via Zoom. To schedule a writing consultation, please reserve a day and time for a Writing Center Appoinment Writing Consultations are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm during the summer.

Virtual Drop-in Writing Help Desk

If you have a quick writing question that does not necessitate a writing consultation, you may drop by the Writing Center on the Lincoln campus (Room 204 in the Fred Brown Center) or use the Zoom link, Virtual Drop-In Writing Help Desk, to talk to a writing consultant. The hours for the link are:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Writing consultation appointments take precedence over drop-ins.
