Perkins Library Fall 2020 Operations

Winter Break 2020

The Learning Commons (LC) and Library will be closed for Winter Break to non-LC staff beginning at 5pm on November 25th. We currently plan to reopen at 9am on Monday, January 11th.

For everyone’s safety, the 24/7 Computer Lab attached to the Learning Commons will also be closed over the break. Students who will be remaining on campus and need to check out a laptop for break can contact the library at to set up a time to pick up a machine.

During this time, the following services will be available:

  • InterLibrary Loan - Requested articles and chapters will still be delivered electronically. Requests for physical items will still be considered, but may be limited based on availability of other libraries.

  • Check out of Perkins Library materials - please email if you need to check out an item from our collection. We’ll work with you to set up a time to come pick it up, or arrange another way to get it to you.

  • Virtual research help by appointment. Make an appointment with a librarian on our Research Assistance page.

  • Research Help Chat (virtual), available Noon-Midnight, 7 days a week (excluding Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day). Access chat from the "Ask a Librarian" bubble on the library website:

No Contact Book Checkout

Virtual Drop-in Writing Help Desk

If you have a quick writing question that does not necessitate a writing consultation, use the Zoom link, Virtual Drop-In Writing Help Desk, to talk to a writing consultant.  The hours for the help desk are Monday - Thursday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
