New York Times (Group Pass)

This guide explains how to create an account to use the library's subscription to the New York Times.

Register for Access

Follow these directions to register for a Group Pass, and receive full access to extensive breaking news and multimedia of the New York Times without a personal subscription.


  • Visit Access NYT to create a personal account. If you are not on a Doane campus, you first will need to be authenticated as a student or employee by logging in with your Doane username and password.
  • Click on the "Create Account" button, then enter your Doane email address and a password of your choice.
  • Click on the "Create Account" button at the bottom of the login screen to complete the process.
  • Now you can enjoy from any location, on any web enabled device, by just logging in to your account with the same email address and password as above.
  • Notice: Your account will expire every 365 days. Use the instructions for Returning Users to reactivate your account.

RETURNING USERS (reactivation required annually)

  • Visit Access NYT to reactivate your account. If you are not on a Doane campus, you first will need to be authenticated by logging in with your Doane username and password.
  • Click on the "Log in here" link below the "Create Account" button. Enter your Doane email address and password for this account.
