Doane Library makes it easy for you to manage all of your Interlibrary Loan requests for library materials. Simply use the link below to login and begin making and receiving requests!
Although journal articles can arrive in your email within 24 hours and physical items like books can come within a week, the library staff cannot guarantee when a requested item will arrive. You should be prepared to wait a minimum of 7 days for copies of articles (electronic) and 14 days for book (physical) loans. Please note any deadlines in the "Cancel if not filled before" box on the request form. Materials coming from out of state, in high demand, or difficult to locate may take longer.
Please refer the library's interlibrary loan policy for information on who may use this service, as well as any other limitations.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies of other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the copyright law.
Most Nebraska academic libraries are members of a reciprocal borrowing program to allow each institution's users access to materials at the other libraries. Check this list of participants to see if a library is a program member. You should contact the library to find out what their borrowing policies are and what you need to present as proof you are a current Doane student.
